Living Logo

Wintry showers and freezing temperatures not withstanding, the whole School gathered on Thursday morning, February 23rd, to be part of a truly unique photograph. As a landmark occasion in the School's 450th year, more than 1000 pupils formed into carefully regimented shapes on the outfield of the 1st XI pitch.

Taken from a cherry-picker, the complete 450th logo will be generated in living 3-D using the pupils, photographed in three sections to provide an appropriate degree of resolution, with each pupil's face forming a pixel of the completed image. The wonders of digital processing will then be used to 'stitch' the three separate images together. The success of the whole operation was due to the meticulous planning and organisation of Mr Lindsay Rooms.

In addition to pupils and staff, representatives from the local and national media were present. The final image, destined for the cover of the souvenir brochure published to celebrate all the 450th events, will be a reminder of a truly whole school event.
